Time for Goodbyes

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1"
After Emily's wedding and before our last 3 meetings, Tony finished up the fence for grandchildren. Little Noelle had opportunity to "help." Before leaving Greenville, we had opportunities to picnic and to visit the zoo while awaiting Isaiah's birth. One afternoon we squeezed in a visit over coffee with Rachel at Bob Jones University. We rejoice over how God has been working in her life since she came from South Africa to study there.
Our new friends, Chet and Gail Chapmans joined us for breakfast with us one morning the last week. We so appreciated being able to live in their basement apartment during parts of July - September. Our last evening in Greenville was spent with our son-in-law, Rob,
and our oldest daughter, Amy(below), and their three children, Jake, Noelle (below) and Isaiah;
and with our youngest daughter, Emily, and our new son-in-law, Ethan . . . . However, goodbyes do not get easier with practice and we have had LOTS of practice since first going to South Africa in 1988!
A very alert two-week Isaiah seemed to give his Grandmommy a deep look. Perhaps it was his attempt to keep her memory alive! No doubt his siblings and parents will help with that . . . and Skype! Yesterday, our middle daughter, Clare, travelled to NC to spend the afternoon with us. The goodbye to her will come on Wednesday when we visit her in D.C. to further celebrate her birthday.
Goodbyes in Afrikaans always sound better. Goodbye is "tot siens," that is, "until we see!" Believers never really say "goodbye!"
