We woke to heavy rains and winds of 40 km per hour and temperatures of 13-14C (39-41F), so we weren’t very surprised that 3 of the 4 who were committed to be at our second Thursday morning Bible study, didn’t make it. However, Mary was waiting on our arrival juust before 10 a.m. with her Bible in hand. When the three of us found that the lady who was to host the study in her home was still in bed under warm blankets (as homes are unheated here), Mary didn’t hesitate a moment to suggest that we hold the study at her home.
Mary’s adult children are Jolene and Charlton from our blogspot "A Day in Delft" from 17 May 2008. It was actually Charlton, who first said he’d be interested in a Bible study, but he has disappointed us by not coming either of these first two studies. Continue to pray for his salvation.
Mary, shown here with me, was able to share her testimony with us today and we believe she truly wants to follow the Lord. She shared about her 15 year old son who was stabbed to death in Eindhoven a few years ago. She has another son, Chadwick, who is 9 years old. Pray for Susan, Kathleen, Jocelyn, and Rosaline whom we trust will join us next Thursday. Tonight Tony and Jeremy held their first study with Alby, who told us when we witnessed to him about a week ago that his greatest need is to be converted. Pray for the Lord to open his heart. Pray for us as we
continue door-to-door in Eindhoven, evangelizing the lost and educating believers. At 10:30 a.m. on the 7th of June, we were privileged to welcome 5 pastors and their wives to our home for a brunch. We were all blessed by the fellowship and time of sharing and praying together. Judging by the fact that no one left until after 2 pm, we believe the fellowship met a real need and is something they would definitely want to hold again in the future. (There were two other national pastors that were unable to join us this time.) Pray for us as we seek to encourage and edify these indigenous pastors and promote their churches.
