Fleeting February

"My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle .  .  .  .Job 7:6"

On the 11th, Lydia and her ladies planned a very special morning for me and our ladies from Delft at their monthly meeting at Immanuel Baptiste Kerk.  Aneesa also attended  and heard the gospel again, when I shared from Psalm 63 which encourages us to seek God to have a satisfied soul.  A person who has forgiveness of sins, is in Christ and finds satisfaction,  resting his soul in Christ's finished work.

Geniel and Trent recently visited our Sunday school for the first time.  The children are studying the life of Christ and memorizing a portion of John 10. However, we are grieved that several of our older children have stopped attending Sunday school and no longer seem to want to follow the Lord. Jason (above) explains that Christ's sheep follow Him.

At our monthly fellowship evenings, Jason also seeks out other young believers to encourage to keep following the Lord.  Pray that God will protect our teens and young adults from the temptations around them.

The students of Oostenberg Bybel Institute are enjoying these new tables which allow them to take their lecture notes more easily than using their laps.
The 24 students studying Ecclesiology this term will meet for 10 classes before writing their final exam on March 22.

Three of our members attended a choir seminar on the 18th which South African MK, Nicholas Meyer, planned. He was assisted by Warren Schilder, also a South African MK. The next day the seminar participants presented the music they learned  at a concert at Nicholas' dad's church in Cloetesville, Stellenbosch.

The evening of the concert, I got to greet Warren's sister, Tanya, a very special young lady who prays for me.  I pray for her as she completes her studies and looks to the Lord for leading for her future.  I am thankful to have her praying for me as we prepare to go to the States to help my mother at this time.

The Balies, in Genadendal, were among the friends we've been able to greet this month. We enjoyed their kind hospitality in this lovely historic village about 1 1/2 hours from Cape Town, where Tony spoke to their men on the 13th.  The next day, I shared a devotional with the ladies who meet each Tuesday morning.

As the days are fleeting, the goodbyes are multiplying.  Three of the young women I have been privileged to have a part in discipling and mentoring planned a special "girls' night" for us to share together on the 17th.
