Serving and Sowing

"For as the rain cometh down . . . from heaven . . . so shall My word . . . not return unto me void." Isaiah 55:11-12

One of the ministries we have on a day-to-day basis is showing the love of Christ to the needy people who knock on our door. One of the people that God has been bringing to us for a few years is Albert. Albert lives a few kilometers from us in Happy Valley, an ill-named area of sin and crime of every sort. He and several siblings and their children live with their parents. Only a few members in this extended household have regular employment. Albert takes an odd job wherever he can. Both he and his little brother have been receiving treatment for TB. When we share the gospel with Albert and encourage him to trust the Lord he is very attentive and often tearful and fearful over the thought of the brevity of life and the certainty of death. Tony witnessed to him again at length on Monday when they drank coffee together. Since Albert worked along side Tony all day and ate lunch with us, there was much opportunity to show him the love of Christ. He came again yesterday on his way to the clinic to get his monthly supply of antibiotics. We are praying that he will go to church with us on Sunday in Macassar where Tony will be speaking the next two Lord’s Days. Pray for Albert to trust the Lord.

During these weeks without our own church, the Lord is giving us opportunities to minister in various indigenous works. Two weeks ago Tony preached in Genadendal for Dr. Isaac Balie and I taught at the Sunday school in the afternoon.

Wednesday night, Tony preached in Macassar. Pray for the Lord to use His Word as Tony preaches 3 more times in the next two weeks for the national pastor,Cyril Adams.

I love seeing all the pictures. Thanks so much Mommy! I am eager to see how God is going to direct you in the next phase of ministry and so thankful for the heritage we have in you two as our parents. We pray for you every day. :)
