Father's Day

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." 2Timothy 2:2
For our Father's Day service in Northpine we gathered under Cedric and Caren's covered patio. Tony preached on Joseph, the "step-father" of Jesus.

He challenged the nine fathers present to be like Joseph. Godly men choose obedience over personal feelings. Godly men choose carefully. Godly men choose obedience over public opinion and pressure. The first choice every father needs to make is to come to Christ for salvation.
After the service, we all shared a meal and the afternoon together. Recently, the messages from Matthew 5 have challenged our young adults with the Lord's explanation of the 7th commandment demanding absolute purity in our relationships with the opposite sex.
Tony shared the gospel with Thabo(left, below) and Lamla (right, above) that afternoon and later in the week he and Cedric spent an evening sharing with Thabo, Q, and Nwabisi and several other friends. Tonight they will meet with Lamla and his fiance and others.
Below are two future fathers who are priveleged to hear the message of the gospel while they are young. Few of the fathers who were present on Father's Day enjoyed that privilege. Pray for them to respond to Christ's call at an early age and be spared many of the scars of sin that complicate their own parents' efforts to follow Christ.
