Thanksgiving on Two Continents

"O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good. Psalm 107:1"

Hudson Taylor's words have been a blessing to me while Tony and I are presently separated by an ocean. "I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize the Lord is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me, or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult, His grace is sufficient."

Tony celebrated Thanksgiving in South Africa with 7 other Americans,
and I celebrated this holiday in America. I arrived here on November 17 to care for my mother since her health needs had increased after a fall in October and an infection in November. My mother improved enough to allow us to travel with Clareto South Carolina to have Thanksgiving with Rob and Amy
and the newlyweds, Ethan and Emily.Mama got to meet 3 month old, Isaiah, and enjoy time with his siblings--four-year-old Jake, and almost two-year-old, Noelle. It was a special Thanksgiving as it was the first time that Mama had visited in Rob and Amy's home since their wedding six years ago.
Today the Lord encouraged Tony's heart today by bringing several first time visitors to the service in Delft. The Sunday school is busy practicing several times a week for their program to be held on December 11. We trust the Lord to bring a number of lost parents on that day.

Hi Cathy,

My name is Cheryl and I live here in North Carolina. I use to live up in Hampton, VA and my church family was Grace Baptist Church. I never had the opportunity of meeting you in person, but wanted to share that you are a blessing and encouragement to me. Thank you for sharing your lives and work for the Lord. Your blog is such a blessing and I always look forward to reading your updates, and enjoy seeing your pictures. I will pray for your mother's health, and your safe return to South Africa.
Sincerely,
A sister in the Lord..
Cheryl*
P.S. I really enjoyed the Hudson Taylor quote. Reading about missionaries is one of my favorite things to do. : )
