Marriage seminar, Missionaries and Mama

"Use hospitality one to another . . . . I Peter 4:9"

On October 28, we welcomed Daniel and Kristie Elmer and their little daughters, Meg and Michelle for a 10 day survey trip. We were delighted to have little girls in the house again!
The day after their arrival, we were among about 90 people from 6 churches to attend an all-day marriage seminar by Dr. Wayne Van Gelderen held at Immanuel Baptiste Kerk. We are thankful to Pastor Kevin and Sister Lydia for hosting the event and to Eric and Katie Graham for organizing the seminar taught by their sending pastor.
During the Elmers' visit, "Pa" Tony and Michelle enjoyed many after mealtime games.

Meg took on the task of helping "Moma" feed Jock.
Daniel had opportunity to get better acquainted with a number of our institute students at a bring-n-braai that we held the second weekend of their visit.

After the meal, Daniel brought a challenge from Proverbs 3:5-6 to about 30 people.
We look forward to Daniel and Kristie joining us in Cape Town before the end of the year. We pray that the Lord will greatly use them in South Africa. The day after the Elmers left, my mother became very confused due to a vivid hallucination. Just 3 weeks earlier she had suffered several falls. Before leaving for the USA to come to see about my mother's needs, I was able to direct 2 Christmas program practices with the Sunday school and . . . . . . attend the November fellowship evening where Tony preached on "Two Ways--life or death" from Deuteronomy 30:11-20. After the message, tea and fellowship were enjoyed--as usual, men and women ended up fellowshipping separately. Jason took this photo of the men.
The night before I left to come to care for my mother, I got a photo of Tony to take with me. We are praying that the Lord will abbreviate our time of separation.
