Death and Life

"Jesus said . . . 'I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:25"
On October 14 Pastor Kevin's mom passed away suddenly. He asked Tony to preach the funeral message. The funeral on October 22 was the occasion for the gospel to go forth to at least 100 people of whom there were many who have not yet built their lives on Christ, the Solid Rock.Pastor Dean Kramer officiated at the gravesite. We sorrow not as those who have no hope. The dead in Christ shall rise! We thank the Lord that Pastor Kevin had the opportunity to lead her to Christ a few years ago.We thank the Lord for the comfort that only He can give and for grace to share the comfort we have been given with others. Pray for God to draw those who heard the gospel to Himself. The day before the funeral, I was able to share the gospel with Angie, my neighbour's sister. Praise the Lord. Angie trusted in Christ that afternoon. I have had two more opportunities to visit Angie, but since she doesn't live in our area, I may not see her often. Pray for the Lord to lead her to a church where she can be taught and discipled. The last Sunday in October, Jason taught the lesson on David's sin and 6 of our regular Sunday school children remained after the class in order to have someone counsel them. Pray for the children who got saved. (From left to right, in the foto above are five of the six children; they are: the first, Sharlize; the second, Tammy; the fourth, Tyrese; the sixth, Chanelle; and the seventh, Amber.)

Tammy (below) has a changed countenance since trusting Christ.
This past Sunday when I asked Mgoduse if he had his sins forgiven, I didn't realize that Tammy was standing near enough to overhear what I asked. She came up to Mgoduse and told him, "Ek het my hart vir die Here gegee, Mgoduse!" (I gave my heart to the Lord, Mgoduse.) Mgoduse recently came to church in a new suit. Pray he will make sure he has new life in Christ.
