A New Year!!

"Use hospitality one to another . . . .   I Peter 4:9"

On New Year's Day we joined our daughter, Amy, and her family to celebrate Noelle's third birthday.  Here, she and Jake are looking at the "cookie cake" Amy asked me to bake for her.
Hello Kitty looks ready to be enjoyed with ice cream, doesn't she?
Noelle got a kiss from Grandmommy when she thanked me for the gift Granddaddy and I  gave her.
The next week, we were able to have 3 special couples from the Greenville area join us for a South African meal.  Boboite with chutney and geelrys, chicken curry with rice, and pudding with custard were on the menu. Smiths, Chapmans and Lehmans all seemed to enjoy the fare.
On the 8th, we held a tea for a 11 ladies, young and "older!"   I learned long ago to allow your guests to help you!!  Four of my special young ladies from our church enjoyed pitching in arranging fruit and icing cupcakes.
Didn't they spread a beautiful tea table?
Cami and Emma's mom had a camera on her phone and got this picture for me, since the batteries for our camera were not charged. I wonder why I love girls so much??
Meanwhile, back in South Africa at our home, Knipes' daughter, Anna, hosted Azura in their own little tea party on our stoep.  Don't I long to be there and join them for tea??
Already in 2013, God is teaching me to fully occupy the place of His present appointment for me.  May He grant us all a year of seizing opportunities to entertain and practice hospitality.
