"I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it Matthew 16:19."
On Saturday, July 6, 27 hours after Tony's departure from Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, he arrived in Blantyre, Malawi. Blantyre, was founded as a small mission and trading settlement in 1876; it was named after David Livingstone's home in Scotland. At the airport in Blantyre, Missionary Eric Chapman met Tony and they traveled 1 1/2 hours north of Blantyre, to Zomba where Tony's host, Magoda, (below) and his wife are taking good care of him.
On Sunday, Tony was one of the preachers to the group of about 300 from several ministries that gathered in this shelter.and taught 40 + pastors this past week through the Sermon on the Mount.Since Tony does not speak Chichewa, Gama served as his interpreter.
During the past week Tony taught 40 + pastors lecturing 5 hours a day through the Sermon on the Mount.
These pastors traveled far to sit under the teaching of God's Word. They will take home Tony's course notes which were translated into Chichewa before he arrived to teach.Pray for these men and the future of the indigenous works in Malawi and all of southern Africa.
This week Tony will be in The Shire, south of Blantyre, teaching the course on the Sermon on the Mount to a second group of pastors. Pray for grace and strength and for the Lord to use His Word and glorify Himself.
