"Commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. II Timothy 2:2"
On March 18, 1813 David Livingstone was born in Blantyre, Scotland. This year marks the bi-centennial of his birth. A couple of hours' drive south of Blantyre, Malawi, which is named for Livingstone's birthplace, is the Shire, where Tony taught a group of 64 pastors from 3 African countries.
The classes were held here.
They gave good attention to the course on the Sermon on the Mount; even the first day of lecture when they did not have chairs, they listened well.
Their traditional meals were prepared by these ladies. Tony enjoyed the food, but I am not sure he got me any new recipes!
The meal times there, as anywhere believers gather, provided times for good fellowship.
Tony posed on the largest ant hill he'd ever seen! The Lord gave Tony a passion for teaching His Word and he especially delights to "commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
Gama translated into Chichewa and the syllabus of Tony's lectures, provided in Chichewa, will provide for further study at home.
At this rest house, Tony had the opportunity to share Christ with a Muslim man whom he believes trusted Christ.
Eric Chapman, on the left, invited Tony to return again to teach as often as he can. Mark, on the right, is a visiting builder from Ohio, who exercised his gifts alongside the nationals.
