May 2014--Tony in South Africa and Cathy in South Carolina

"I will never leave you nor forsake thee. So that we my boldly say, The Lord is my helper. . .  Hebrews 13:5-6"
Tony continued teaching and preaching in South Africa for an additional six weeks after I returned to the USA on May 5.
Part of the time, he was able to stay in a fellow missionaries' home.  When caring for their guinea pigs and rabbits while they were away, he saw the largest caterpillar he'd ever seen.  Anyone hungry?

Other friends allowed Tony to stay in their "Lavender Cottage" for several weeks.  Many thanks to Rene and Theresa!
From their property he enjoyed a good view of Table Mountain, which he never found time to climb during these 3 months.
Sunsets enjoyed from the property cannot adequately be captured by a camera, but he tried!
The Lord gave Tony safety traveling 40-55 minutes one way to and from the institute's two venues each week. One night after making a visit to witness to a student's bereaved brother-in-law, God protected Tony from being hurt.  Skollies (hooligans) hurled a heavy object at the borrowed bakkie (pickup) he was driving. The damage could have been greater (dent is above the black molding and below the truck cap). If the object had gone through the windscreen, as often happens on some of our highways, Tony would likely have been badly hurt.
Winter weather set in by the end of May.  The students at the institute never remove their coats during class!
Meanwhile, back in SC, I was able to bring my mother home to care for after my return.
The following weekend we enjoyed a brief visit from Amy and Noah, who flew in from Tampa for a special friend's baby shower.
 We hosted a luncheon for friends . . .
. . . the Wartak ladies and Rose Elliott!
On May 29th, I had the opportunity to speak to the ladies at the GFA Family Conference at the Wilds.
