A June Journal

". . . the Lord's mercies . . . are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Here is a glimpse of the past 4 weeks (minus three days spent in doctor's offices for tests and xrays. I am grateful that everything "serious" was ruled out and a prescription brought improvment within 2 weeks!)

June 11: I had a visit with Liz, one our "girls." We met at the University of Western Cape the week before she turned in her Master's thesis. We have especially prayed for the Lord to accomplish His will in her life, since the time she lived with us 6 years ago.
13 June: The opportunity to be with Pastor Kevin and Immanuel Baptiste Kerk at their monthly fellowship evening was an encouragement to us and to the believers of Eindhoven Baptiste Kerk. Tony preached from Habbakuk on walking by faith.16 June: Jeugdag (Youth Day) was spent with some of our young people. They enjoyed games, the video, THE PRINTING, and making their own pizzas before prayer meeting.
27 June: Tony and I enjoyed the opportunity that Pastor Nicholas Parrang of the Atlantis Baptist Bible Church gave us to be with them, when Tony preached there that morning. Nicholas and Ursula attended the Pastors' and Wives' Retreat which we held at the beginning of the year. Pray for us to be an encouragement to the faithful national pastors who labour at great personal sacrifice to reach their own people.27 June: In the evening we had the privilege of attending South African church pianist and composer, Nicholas Meyer's concert in Cloetesville highlighting his new cd, "Christ Alone. " Nicholas' love from Christ and desire to use and develop his talent to the glory of God are a great joy to our hearts.
28 June and 5 July: Jason, Tony and I taught a two-day seminar on the importance of making right choices to our youth from Delft and the youth of Matroosfontein. We challenged them to remain pure and to give their hearts and lives to Christ.
Pray for the Lord to allow His Word to run and be glorified here in the Western Cape.
