"The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121:8"
What do mentoring and moving have in common? When we moved to South Carolina 3 weeks ago we brought two house guests with us for the move!! Peggy and I have been studying Bible Doctrines together this summer since we first met at a supporting church. Mrs. Elizabeth Walker, a long time friend, also wanted to accompany us to our new base. These ladies proved to be such a blessing to us in providing companionship to my mother during a time of great change and in providing selfless labors of love to help us.Friends, old and new, from Victory Baptist Church helped Tony pack the U-haul on August 16. Notice my comical husband posing as if he was having coffee in the van, while Alton and Ronnie work! :-)
Karl (above) was a great helper, as were Adam and Chuck. Pray for Karl, who recently surrendered to the call to preach. Thanks so much, friends!
On moving day, August 17, we made the 340 mile trip with two rest stops. It was a blessing to catch up at each stop with Tony, who drove the 20 foot truck alone. I enjoyed the fellowship of the 3 other ladies in the car. Four friends from our sending church were on hand when we arrived in SC to unload the truck and help us set up beds for a good night's rest. Thanks Homer, Jason, Philip and Andrew!!
Peggy made us a wonderful evening meal of Chinese fried rice. The elderly ladies clearly preferred "American" cuisine the rest of the week!
We were able to greet all at Victory Baptist Church on August 26. We greatly miss our friends in Roanoke Rapids!! Pray for Peggy's continued growth in grace and in the knowledge of God and His will for her life.
